Are you getting spammed like there’s no tomorrow? We’ve also noticed an uptick in spamming. I was recently looking at our spam filter and noticed that a lot of email is coming from people I don’t know using “free-mail” like Gmail and Yahoo. Many were from outside Colorado Springs, but still many were from Colorado small businesses. I told another business owner that I was about to block free-mail. He said: “you can’t do that, you’ll miss clients.” However, our clients and prospective clients are business owners who have moved beyond “free” email services. Right?
If you own a business, why not use your email domain as advertising? Why give credit to a big corporation in San Francisco? “It’s too expensive.” Really? For less than a cup of coffee and a bagel you can have a business email address—with all the features that a big business might have. You even get a service desk, just like the big guys, so when you forget your password someone is there to help.
Do you want to get out of being considered a “spammer?” Do you want to stand out as a professional small business with a real domain name at the end of your email? Just ask, it’s not that expensive–less than you spend on a trip through the drive through coffee shop.
