"My name is Brian Overheidt and I'm the Business Manager for Terrace Supply Company. I handle the marketing, accounting, technology, and overall financial business plan for Terrace Supply. Terrace has three locations, and we supply industrial gases, welding supplies, and automotive supplies to a wide variety of customers in the Chicagoland area. I received a marketing letter from Scott Brennan & CMIT Solutions, which described they kinds of technology problems companies can find themselves in. The letter was well-timed, because it addressed the issues we were having with our former computer provider, who was someone we had been using for over 20 years. We didn't see the drive and the professionalism to finally solve some nagging problems--like not having a regular data backup. We were looking at putting in a new computer system and I felt we needed a new technology company that would help us solve our existing problems and takes us to a new level by implementing a new system. When we brought in CMIT Solutions, they were able to solve our backup issue right away. We realized what a huge risk we were taking by not having consistent backups. Terrace Supply Company services over 5,000 customers and if we didn't have that data we wouldn't have any information on our products, pricing, past history on our customers, outstanding billings, or product inventory. If we had to reconstruct our data, we would have had to go back through all of our paper invoices--and that would take one person at least a day to take care of just one client's data--which means we would be looking at 5,000 days to reconstruct our data! They did a fantastic job of switching us over to our new system, and documenting our systems and passwords as a result. The fact that CMIT had several local technicians AND is also part of a national company was very important to Terrace Supply. We had been in a situation where we had just one computer person, and if that person decided to not answer the phone, quit, move to the Caribbean, get hit by a bus; whatever the case--we needed someone else who could step in and provide computer support. I feel secure in that if Scott and his team come up against something that they can't find the answer to, they'll be able to find the answer by reaching out to their National support network. About a year ago, we were in the process of searching for a network administrator when we received a marketing letter from CMIT Solutions. With 19 years of experience building Addus from a small player to a national leader, I have been approached by hundreds of vendors with similar support claims.
