CMIT Anywhere FAQ
Q: I do my work on various computers and mobile devices through the day. Is it possible for me to have access to all of my files from every location?
A: Yes it is. With our CMIT Anywhere program, we offer cloud storage and complete support. Cloud storage allows you to save your files to a remote location that is accessible through any computer or mobile device. We use JungleDisk (www.jungledisk.com) for our file storage purposes.
Q: Can I set it up so that only I can see my files?
A: Yes you can. By using a strong password, you can ensure that your files stay private. You can have a personal cloud that only you can access, a cloud with a shared password for you and any collaborator to access, or a public cloud that is accessible by anyone. With cloud computing, you decide who accesses your files and which files they access.
Q: Do I need my own servers to have my own cloud?
A: No, having your own servers is not necessary. However, because having an internet connection is necessary for accessing your cloud, having the cloud set up at your business may be beneficial to you. CMIT can install the cloud on your local machines to prevent a slow internet connection from getting between you and your cloud.
Q: I have Microsoft Outlook and I'd like to be able to access Outlook on all of my devices and have any changes reflected on every device. Is this possible?
A: Yes it is. We use Rackspace (http://www.rackspace.com/apps/email_hosting/exchange_hosting/ ) to provide you with completely mobile email management. With this service, you are able to access your Outlook email from any device or web browser and see the changes instantly reflected on your desktop.
Q: How much does CMIT Anywhere cost?
A: For all of this—cloud storage and sharing for files and remote email hosting—we charge a $350-$450 installation fee with around a $20 a month fee for maintenance and storage space.
