About Us

President and CEO of CMIT Solutions of S. Sonoma & NW Marin Co., Jim Hood, has a lifelong understanding of computers and communications systems. His childhood fascination with resistors, capacitors and ham radio let to a BS in Electrical Engineering, and then to a Master's in Electrical Engineering from Stanford. For over 30 years, Jim has designed and developed computer and communications systems and networks as a R&D specialist at IBM/Rolm and Hewlett Packard, and he's been actively involved in numerous high tech communications and software development firms.

A few years ago, Jim trained his expert eye on the small to mid-sized business market and saw a real opportunity to share his expertise in Information Technology (IT) with companies that could not usually afford their own IT departments. In 2005, Jim founded his company in the greater Santa Rosa area in the San Francisco North Bay. He has provided IT solutions and services, such as IT consulting, computer networking, network security, data backup, data recovery, managed services, and disaster recovery solutions, to dozens of small to mid-sized businesses as their IT partner and trusted technical advisor.

Jim, and his team of experienced system and network administrators and technicians, are a Microsoft Certified Partner, Microsoft Registered Partner, Microsoft Small Business Specialist, Dell Partner, H-P Partner, Symantec Partner, Intuit Partner, and Registered Cisco Partner.

Soon after BCLA relocated its offices in late 2008, Len Farias paid a visit. IE March of 2007, he had established "CMIT Solutions of South Brevard" to provide top quality information technology services to small and mid-sized businesses in Brevard. In a marketplace flooded with IT companies, CMIT stands out by offering the personalized attention of a local service with all the support of a national network. Len was looking for a way to give back to our community and was interested in learning more about BCLA and our services.
