We are Emory and Carole Lynn Simmons, a husband wife team and local owners of CMIT Solutions of South Charlotte. Having lived in Matthews and western Union County for over 22 years, we desire to see local businesses be competitive and strong, reaching their full potential so families can prosper and communities in the Charlotte area can flourish. It is this desire which has shaped the mission of our company.

Our mission is to consistently be a clear contributor to the success and growth of our clients.

We purpose to manage our client’s information technology as a valuable resource that improves productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness. We will accomplish this not just by resolving problems that result in pain and frustration, but to clear up their root causes, proactively developing strategies to address business problems.

Prior to the debut of CMIT Solutions of South Charlotte, Emory managed information technology for over 30 years in large enterprises including Wachovia, Bank of America, and Digital Equipment Corporation.  Most recently, he led a group in Wachovia’s information security division responsible for predicting, preventing, detecting, and responding to information technology threats around the clock and around the world.  This real-world experience protecting business information while enabling business to respond to revenue opportunities is the sort of practical experience Emory brings to CMIT Solutions of South Charlotte’s clients. Emory holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification and is a member of Infragard and Carolinas IT Professionals.

Carole Lynn is Vice President and in charge of marketing for CMIT of South Charlotte. She received a BS from University of South Carolina and has enjoyed a multi-faceted career path which includes experience in purchasing; transportation procurement; sales; writing, illustrating and publishing a children’s activity book; teaching; and home school administration.  Her sense of vision, her skill in planning and follow up, and her desire to see others succeed in their ventures makes this a particularly suitable role for Carole Lynn in this family owned business.

After reviewing their situation, CMIT set up a backup system that automatically copies their data to a remote location every night. The biggest reason I use CMIT is for the peace of mind they give me. Their Marathon service automatically monitors our servers, the logs, and the health of our network 24/7/365 to make sure everything is running properly and to make sure lower-level maintenance on the network is getting done. Plus, there is a live person behind that service that alerts me to anything that isn't right, and gives me the option to fix it myself or have them fix it. In most cases, it's worth paying them to do this instead of pulling me away from a more critical project or task, but their flexibility is greatly appreciated. To Whom It May Concern: Before we hired CMIT Solutions, we were very frustrated with our POS system and our network. We had purchased new hardware and the QuickBooks Point-of-sale software, however had a hard time understanding how to use the software and setting up our network correctly. We were ready to toss the computer and go back to using pen and paper. CMIT Solutions of Plano has solidified our network to run properly, trained us in the QuickBooks POS and Financial software, helped us in obtaining a better rate on our merchant services to integrate with QuickBooks, replaced worn and unreliable hardware and suggested a remote backup system that is right for us and our company.
