CMIT Solutions Inc. is hoping to bring its brand of small business information technology services to Arizona with the potential for five or more locations in the Phoenix area.
The Austin-based company is looking for franchisees to expand in the state where it currently has only one location. The company is looking for as many as five locations in the Valley, said Sheri Vandermause, the company’s vice president of franchise development.
“We see the Phoenix market as a strategic market in which we’d like to expand,” she said.
The company has 137 franchised locations around the U.S. Its target market includes small businesses of up to about 100 employees. It provides IT services with a 24-hour call desk if problems arise.
The company’s goal is to provide small businesses with services that many large businesses have, Vandermause said.
The franchise fee is $49,950, and CMIT estimates that with working capital included, a franchisee may need between $125,000 and $150,000, Vandermause said.
But with a multitude of small businesses in the state, the company is thinking aggressively about its expansion. It is looking at five to six offices in the Phoenix area, as well as one or two in Prescott, Flagstaff and Tucson.
“We definitely need a couple locations in Phoenix,” Vandermause said. “We’d also like one in the Glendale/Peoria area, one in Mesa and one in Chandler.”
The company does not have a timetable for the openings, but is looking for either startups or companies interested in converting to the CMIT brand. Selecting franchisees could take several months through the company’s process, Vandermause said.
