Come
on in—the Market’s Fine.
As
we begin 2005, thousands of companies across the nation are
scrambling to increase efficiency, lower costs, and increase
value in their areas of core competency. Businesses in
your community face stiff competition—sometimes
from rivals halfway around the globe. In this economic climate,
it’s differentiate or die.
Businesses
large and small are beginning to realize that they must ensure
a robust, healthy IT environment in order to build key relationships
with employees, partners, prospects, and customers. As we
like to say, “Whatever the mission, IT is mission
critical.”
At
the same time, businesses are waking up to the fact that they
can—and must—say goodbye to repetitive,
mundane tasks that suck valuable time and resources away from
their true areas of expertise. Why? Because IT service providers
can give them reliable, best-of-breed solutions for LESS.
Despite
what you might think, IT outsourcing is growing faster
in this economy than during the boom times of the 90s.
According to Gartner Group, “economic decline has brought
cost reduction back to the top of enterprise agendas, and
outsourcing can provide this benefit.” In fact, Gartner
projections show that outsourcing will represent a whopping
59% of IT services in 2005.
And
it’s not just the big guys who are making waves. Analysts
peg the IT market for small to mid-sized companies—those
with up to $50 million in annual revenues—at more than
$300 billion. What’s more, IT spending in this
segment is growing at quite a clip, with budgets set to increase
by a hardy 17% compared with 13% for large companies,
according to Forrester Research.
A
recent CIO Metrics survey of 1,000 e-commerce companies,
ranging from small to enterprise-level businesses showed that
73% of respondents are currently outsourcing or planning
to outsource, and 57% viewed outsourcing as a way to
cut costs in a negative economic climate. And as Gartner Group
observes, “as the economy revives … even small
enterprises will tap outsourcers.”
We’ve
witnessed the trend first-hand. The number of CM IT Solutions
franchises grew by 63% in 2002, followed by 120%
growth in 2003 and is poised for continued success
in 2005.
The
market for outsourced IT services is ripe and ready.
