About the Owner
Terry Whearley is convinced that there is a better way to serve small businesses and organizations in Fairfax and surrounding areas that are becoming increasingly dependent on technology.  To deliver this ‘better way’, Terry is committed to being your trusted resource and IT solution provider for local businesses.  He and his team can solve your computer and network frustrations and let you focus on your real business – so that your business can remain competitive and grow.

With over 25 years of IT experience, Terry is a proven leader in delivery and operations of IT. He has a strong record of accomplishment in IT systems, sales, financial systems and management, research and development, customer service, and quality assurance. He holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and is also certified in ITIL v3.  For years, Terry has advised enterprise Chief Information Officers on effective IT use, and has delivered enterprise IT services to some of nation’s largest companies and highest-profile government agencies.  But he has also worked with and for smaller companies for many years, and understands the challenges small companies face. To meet those challenges, Terry applies ‘lessons learned’ from delivery of reliable enterprise IT to help smaller businesses improve their efficiency, increase productivity and revenue, and reduce costs.

The increasing challenges of guarding network security and operations, ensuring reliable data and recovery, and effective use of new technologies - like mobile devices and cloud technology - have only increased the value of experts you can rely on. To deliver that expertise, we focus on understanding your business, and then offer tailored solutions to manage the challenges that technology can bring to your business.

With proven IT capabilities and experience running smaller businesses, Terry and the rest of our local team of IT professionals are dedicated to being “your technology team”.  We let you focus on your business while CMIT Solutions of Fairfax keeps your IT investment working smoothly.

Steps big and small are needed to prepare, local companies say

Everyone hopes they won’t have to use a disaster plan, but local small-business owners who have suffered a major loss urge people to develop one nonetheless.

Susan and Lawrence Crane of The Party Concierge are glad they did some disaster preparation. An Aug. 6 fire started in a neighboring business and consumed The Party Concierge's 40,000-square-foot space, including all of the props and merchandise of the 19-year-old event decor and design business. Their damages are estimated at $5 million.

Like so many business owners, Helen Feng left corporate culture to control her own destiny.

With a heavy information technology background, Feng selected a CMIT Solutions franchise. Since June 2009, she has been the sole Las Vegas-area franchisee. Soon, she may have some company.

CMIT Solutions aims to open four or five Las Vegas franchises by the end of 2013.

"It's an area where we believe there's a void in the market," said Sheri Vandermause, vice president of franchise development.

AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 04/16/12 -- John Pullen knows that small and mid-sized businesses of all kinds -- law firms, coffee shops, doctor's offices -- depend on increasingly complex technology, and it's becoming harder for them to handle their own IT needs.

That's why the longtime technology executive recently opened CMIT Solutions of West Austin to offer managed IT services for small businesses.

"When CMIT and Armando came in, he explained to me what files to look for in data backups and he showed me that they are being backed up not only on our internal systems but on external systems.  We have a lot of internal backup systems, but if there is a flood or the hurricane which occurred here last tax season, a lot of accounting firms got washed out.  They lost a lot of their...
"I was very scared of having anything go wrong with my computers.  All my financial information for the business is on my computers, all the medical information of every patient I’ve ever taken care of is on the computers, and yes,  it concerned me a lot when I thought about something crashing, or if there is a virus, or if somebody hacks into my system, what liability am I taking on....
