John and Sue Smythe own the local office in Everett, Washington, providing computer services that growing businesses in the Everett/Snohomish County area need – security, troubleshooting, installations, networking, online data backups, disaster recovery, and more – all things necessary to ensure you have a safe and stable networking environment.  For businesses with 5 to 125 computers, CMIT Solutions also offers a managed services plan. For a fixed monthly fee, the CMIT Marathon managed services plan provides proactive maintenance and technical support for your business’ technology infrastructure – including computers, servers, networks, and printers.

About the Owners:

John and Sue have over 50 years combined business experience between them. John’s background is accounting and finance. He has held Controller/CFO positions for a variety of companies, with a heavy emphasis in the retail industry plus eight years experience in non-profit. In this capacity John was responsible for IT oversight and the implementation of accounting systems, POS systems, inventory control systems, and payroll systems. He has a strong sense of the controls that need to be in place in order to run a successful business. John also owned several businesses over the years, including several bookstores and a nightclub.

Sue’s background is information technology. She has held software development and IT management positions in a variety of companies, with most recent experience in the software industry. Sue has been involved with all aspects of product development, is knowledgeable in project management, and understands what it takes to get a product to market. Sue also owned a computer consulting firm targeting small businesses with IBM mid-range machines.

About the Team Members:

Our staff is our mostly highly regarded resource. We carefully select the best and brightest people to provide top notch service to our clients in the Everett/Snohomish County area.

Roger Head is our IT Manager and Senior Consultant. Roger brings a vast frame of reference from more than 14 years in sales, training, and general management. Roger is technical manager to our technicians, project manager to ongoing projects, and account manager to our clients. We rely on Roger to make sure things are done right and our clients are happy.

Matt Stewart is our Senior Systems Engineer. Dan has an extensive background working with small and medium-sized businesses, and brings to the table strong knowledge of current technology and proven problem-solving skills. Matt is our go-to person for new installations, complex projects, and problem diagnosis and resolution.

Kelly Wilson is our Office Manager and Marketing Director.  Kelly's people skills and enthusiasm are what make her such an asset to our company.   She is the much appreciated voice of the company whenever you need to speak to a LIVE person in our office.  She can be reached by calling (425) 374-2436 ext. 3 for Reception.  Kelly is currently completing the Marketing Management Certificate Program at the University of Washington to further enhance her ability to market our CMIT name! 

Roger and Matt are our local “boots on the ground” Techs and receive expert professional support from a large cast.  They are both supported remotely by 180 certified technicians via our Network Operations Center (NOC), our Help Desk, as well as locally by our on-call Network Engineers.  These combined resources make a comprehensive support team for our clients.

After reviewing their situation, CMIT set up a backup system that automatically copies their data to a remote location every night. They also monitor those backups carefully to make sure nothing goes wrong."Now we have a good, offsite backup of our data. If disaster strikes, I know we can access our data from anywhere. The biggest reason I use CMIT is for the peace of mind they give me. One of our computers would not fully boot-up and kept restarting. CMIT Solutions came right over to help with the problem. The technician diagnosed the problem as a root-kit virus and determined I would need to do a complete re-install of my Operating System. She was able to help me save all of my important files and e-mail messages and address book. She provided simple but detailed instructions for me to perform the re-install and responded quickly to any questions I had in getting my computer fully up and running again.
